Kiernan Cup Quarter Final 18 July 2020

Coolaney/Mullinabreena met with their neighbors Tubbercurry in Nace O'Dowd to contest the Quarter Final of the Kiernan Cup on what was a lovely summer's evening. It was the first competition match of the season for the home team and first competitive outing for both sides since the lockdown.
It was a very fast paced first half with Coolaney/Mullinabreena taking an early lead of 5 to 2, unfortunately this lead would not last long due to an own goal and a further two goals form David Kelly and Rory Ryan. Although Coolaney/Mullinabreena trailed behind by 7 points they didn't lose momentum and maintained a strong presence.

In the second half Coolaney/Mullinabreena continued their strong pace and despite Tubbercurry scoring a further 7 points, our Squad fought back with an impressive scoring of 1-9, with a great goal from Gavin Gorman. However time was against Coolaney/Mullinabreena and unfortunately the side were defeated by one point.

 Final Score Coolaney/Mullinabreena 1-14 Tubbercurry 3-09
